Flauto Dolce Nokkahuiluyhtye – Over 50 Years of recorder playing in Finland

Flauto Dolce performs around the Helsinki metropolitan area. This concert was held in Tikkurila church, Vantaa Finland.

Flauto Dolce (Italian for sweet flute, recorder) is an amateur recorder ensemble In Finland founded by Aarne Porko in 1970 and is currently led by Satu Marjamäki (ex Parkkonen). Flauto Dolce is now part of the Vantaa Music Institute’s open department ensemble activities. The ensemble practices weekly and performs regularly around the Helsinki metropolitan area. Flauto Dolce repertoire mainly consists of Renaissance and Baroque music, without forgetting new music.

Flauto Dolce uses sopranino, soprano, alto, tenor, F-bass, C-bass, and sub-bass recorders, played in various combinations. Players are required to play at least three different recorders fluently and to acquire high-quality wooden instruments. The ensemble currently consists of 12 players.
